WeedsWest Global Solutions Group has just been selected as a partner in a new project in the in the heavy metal industry that includes the supply and assembly of the drainage circuits in the Hydroelectric Central Salamonde II.
The new hydroelectric central Salamonde II from EDP arises in the context of the need to strengthen the power of this production center and represents a total investment of 195 to 205 million euros. The new plant will increase about five times the power of the existing plant and expected to start producing power to the grid in the 2nd half of 2015.
The project’s execution shall take place throughout 2015. “The fact that WeedsWest and Laurel have been selected by Efacec, our client, is the clear recognition of our technical expertise and extensive know-how in the heavy metal industry, as this is a project of high complexity”, says Pedro Salsa e Quadros, WeedsWest General Manager.
The project includes the supply and assembly of stainless steel “turnkey” piping systems, accessories, hydro-pneumatic reservoirs, compressed air systems, differentiated hoists and respective monorail beams as well as various ladders; the assembly of electric pump groups, valves and joints for the dismantling of Efacec supplies; and the setup of instruments supplied by the client for the various drainage wells.
